Our Founding "Father"

S. John Westrom founded E-Z Tool Corporation in 1960 and remained CEO until his passing on December 20, 2003. John Westrom was an accomplished machinist who held 4 U.S. patents, 3 for the Universal Shear Sharpener alone.  

A proud member of the National Rifle Association and a master gunsmith, John had a passion for custom rifles. Under the sister company name, Precise Firearms Finishing, John's craftmanship was sought after by gun collectors and enthusiasts all across the nation.
A long time member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild, in May of 2003, John was awarded a lifetime honorary membership to the ACGG. 

In 1992 John's wife, JoAnne Westrom accepted the responsibilities of company treasurer and packaging \ shipping manager. Currently, JoAnne has acquired the CEO position after the passing of her husband in December of 2003.

October 1998, William Westrom, the youngest of John and JoAnne Westrom's seven combined children has stepped up to the challenge of General Manager at E-Z Tool Corporation, overseeing all areas of purchasing, production, quality control and shipping.

We are proud to be a family owned and run business for over 45 years. Started in a single car garage, John moved the operation to Saylor Township, just north of the Des Moines, Iowa city limits in 1970 and has remained at this location for the past 36 years.

During those past 36 years, most of John's children have done work for the growth of
E-Z Tool Corporation in all levels, administrative and production alike. Now in the current years, some of the grandchildren have accepted the challenge of this industry.
